Pant and Arshdeep stun Bangladesh
While chasing, Bangladesh struggled throughout their innings. Bangladesh lost a wicket in the first over courtesy of Arshdeep Singh. Litton Das followed Soumya Sarkar to the dressing room in the second over of Arshdeep. Bangladesh kept losing wickets and never got the momentum they needed to chase the target set by India.
Bangladesh lost another three wickets in quick succession. Najmul Hossain Shanto, Towhid Hridoy and Tanzid Hasan’s dismissal left Bangladesh in tatters. Shakib Al Hasan and Mahmudullah forged a strong partnership, however Bangladesh fell behind the required run rate. Eventually, they lost the final warm-up match against India.
India started strong with Arshdeep Singh’s first over, posing tough questions to the Bangladeshi batsmen. On the other hand, Jasprit Bumrah bowled with precision, keeping Bangladeshi batters in check. Arshdeep Singh removed Litton Das with a stunning delivery in his second over. Mohammed Siraj claimed a wicket by hitting the deck hard.
Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, and Shivam Dube also contributed to India’s victory. Arshdeep Singh and Shivam Dube took two wickets each for India.
India’s Batting Struggles in New York
Earlier, Rohit Sharma captain of India won the toss against Bangladesh and opted to bat first. Indian batsmen initially struggled due to New York conditions. Both the opener of today’s warm-up match of India, Sanju Samson and Rohit Sharma fell early.
Rishabh Pant and Suryakumar Yadav formed a responsible partnership. Pant and Yadav scored 50 and 31 respectively. Hardik Pandya played a magnificent inning at the back end.
